Airbnb has also been profitable during the economic downturn.
The company said that it generated revenue of $1.6 billion in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Thats an impressive record.

Airbnb chief executive and co, and Airbnb founder, Brian Chesham said on Tuesday that his company had been profitable ever since the fourth-quarter earnings report in 2019.
“There’s no reason why we couldn’t be profitable for another three or four years, so we have some momentum going into 2020,” Cheshire said during an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
“The reason we haven’t done that for the last two or three years is because of the market volatility.
But there’s a lot of other things that could help us accelerate the pace of growth in the short term.”
Airbnb recently announced a $5 million investment to help with infrastructure improvements to its website, including improvements to the way that users can make reservations, make booking requests and make payments.
The startup says it expects to make up for those lost revenue with additional growth in 2019, 2019-2020 and 2020.
Airbnb, which was founded in 2007, has more than 500 million active users and is used by more than 400 million people worldwide.
Airbnb’s stock price has surged in the past year as the company has been making headway in its quest to become a more mainstream hotel and hostel provider.
Airbnb recently closed an initial public offering for $2.4 billion in a deal valued at $6.8 billion.
Airbnb had previously raised more than $100 million in venture capital funding.
Airbnb and other companies that provide services to travelers have been growing at a rapid pace, and they have become more accessible.
For example, Airbnb is growing its business through the introduction of app-based services like HomeAway, which allows users to book rooms, rooms, and other accommodation.
Airbnb also has a platform for hosts to book hotels.
In 2018, Airbnb announced that it had more than 10,000 rooms for hosts on its platform, including over 1,200 rooms in San Jose, California.
Airbnb was founded by former eBay co-founders Pierre Omidyar and Anthony Levandowski, along with several other partners.
The two companies were acquired by eBay in 2014.
Airbnb currently has more new hotels under construction than any company in history.
